<aside> 🔍 Quarterly Knowledge Capture Sample: Gathering business- & role-critical information on a quarterly basis to insure institutional knowledge is captured & retained for future reference. I have just basic information included, you can update, adapt, or start from scratch. This was created to be easy to update quarterly as a running database for individuals that could be maintained by the organization.

NOTES: (1) I am a proponent of keeping things simple. This is a basic outline and format for collecting this important data. (2) This Knowledge Capture was written through my Talent Development & Learning lens. The content will need to be updated for individual roles.

There are three types of Institutional Knowledge:

Tangible (or Explicit)
- Knowledge an organization can store and transmit to its employees systematically, such as paper or digital documents. Such knowledge doesn't rely on any individual in the organization to keep and convey.
Intangible (or Implicit)
- Knowledge that an individual within an organization has by virtue of their experience or an attribute characteristic. It's transmissible through direct training with the individual but isn't tangible unless recorded in a reproducible way.
Tacit knowledge
- Knowledge gained through experience. Therefore, it is more intuitive and less easy to share with others.
